πππππ- The 2023 Tomori Bay Dragon Boat National Open Championship which took place in the waters of Kolonodale, North Morowali Regency, Central Sulawesi (Central Sulawesi) has ended successfully.
The competition was officially closed and prizes and trophies were awarded to the winners by the Regent of North Morowali, Delis Julkarson Hehi, Wednesday (18/10/2023).
In his speech, the Regent of Delis hoped that PB PODSI (All Indonesian Rowing Sports Association) could make this championship a permanent annual calendar.
With the presence of national rowers in this championship, it will automatically motivate local Morut rowers to continue learning and practicing.
“This is our dream for the future. With a big championship like this, local athletes will be born in Tomori Bay who can compete at the national level,” explained the regent.
According to the coaches and team management who competed in this championship, the Tomori Bay area is very beautiful and meets the requirements for national and even international championships.
The Regent also thanked all the teams who had taken part in this championship. He hopes that all teams can participate again in the Tomori Bay Dragon Boat National Open Championship in 2024.
The 2023 championship was attended by 16 rowing teams, namely PODSI East Luwu (Sulsel), PODSI Makassar (Sulsel), PODSI North Buton (Sultra), Armada III Sorong (Papua), Lantamal VI Makassar (two teams), Wakatobi (Sultra), Muna West (Sultra), Puma Team Pekaloa Sorowako (South Sulawesi), West Bontu-Bontu (Sultra), and Bontang (Kaltim). The other four teams from Central Sulawesi were the PODSI Poso, Parigi Moutong and Morut teams (two teams).
In this championship the West Muna team came out as champions in two classes, namely the 750 meter and 500 meter classes. ππππ
