𝐏𝐎𝐒𝐎- Representative of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy of the Republic of Indonesia Kurleni Ukar opened the 23rd Poso Lake Festival (FDP), at the FDP Tentena Pavilion, Tuesday (10/10-23).
The FDP event carried the theme “The Charm of My Padung People’s Party”. The opening was marked by the beating of gongs and fireworks.
Apart from that, it featured the colossal Limbayo Keraoa mPomota dance, accompanying bamboo music, the Motaro Mangaru dance, marches from Pamona Bersaudara District, Poso Regency and Parigi Moutong Regency.
The collaborative show involved 12 districts and 1 city, as well as special performances such as Putri Danau Poso, the Ekoprint and Poso batik fashion show, as well as performances from Santukaka, Morarena Band, Vicky Shu, Etgar, and Anatimur.
Regent of Poso Dr. Verna Inkiriwang, revealed that the Poso Lake Festival was first held in 1989 with the aim of being a means of developing tourism in Poso Regency. However, this festival was stopped due to the humanitarian conflict that hit Sintuwu Maroso Poso until the 2000s.
After the conflict was successfully resolved and regional conditions returned to being conducive, the Poso Lake Festival was held again. This festival is not only a means of promoting Poso tourism but also proof to the outside world that Poso is very safe, comfortable and peaceful to visit
“We are targeting the implementation of the FDP this year to bring in a greater flow of tourist visits than in previous years,” said the Regent of Poso.
According to him, the essence of holding cultural and tourism events in Poso and Central Sulawesi in general is to promote the region towards the tourism and cultural potential of the Central Sulawesi region.
This time, the FDP presents various spectacular and interesting cultural performance attractions that can leave a good impression that Central Sulawesi and Poso Regency deserve to be one of the national and even world tourist destinations that are worth visiting for local and foreign tourists.
He said, one of the interesting things at this event was the VVIP and VIP stages which used traditional kandepo handmade by the Poso community which was produced through mutual cooperation.
This indicates that culture is deeply rooted in society and all components of this region have made a major contribution to organizing this people’s party.
It is scheduled that this FDP will close on October 13 to coincide with Thanksgiving Day or padungku for the people of Poso Regency in the Pamona Bersaudara area.
Also attending the event were a number of high-ranking officials and prominent figures, including Representatives of the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy of the Republic of Indonesia, Representatives of the Ambassador of Morocco, Deputy Minister of Communication and Information of the Republic of Indonesia, Director General of the Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia, Expert Staff to the Chief of Staff for EKKUDAG, Representatives of the Governor of Central Sulawesi, Representatives of the Governor of North Kalimantan , Members of the Central Sulawesi Province Forkopimda, leaders and members of the Central Sulawesi Province DPRD, Regents/Mayors throughout Central Sulawesi as well as various religious, traditional and other community leaders.**
